Alyce Richardson-Owner/Director/Ballet, Pointe, Balletone, Modern
Alyce graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University with a BFA in dance. During that time, she performed with the Philadelphia Civic Ballet and Ballet South where she as a soloist. Upon graduation Alyce moved to New York City to study at the Martha Graham School, where she was on scholarship for three years. During that time she performed collaberative and independent choreographic works with various company memeber, as well as performing with several other companies. Alyce then began teaching workshops at the 92nd street YMCA. Upon her return to Philadelphia, she performed at The Painted Bride and was on scholarship at Philadanco. She then resumed position as owner of the Barn Studio of Dance.

Liz Lyle-Assistant/Ballet, Pointe, Modern, Jazz, Hip-hop
Liz has been teaching dance and choreographing for seven years. She currently teaches dance at the Barn Studio of Dance, and Creative Steps. During the summers Liz also teaches at a YMCA’s summer camp. Liz has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Eastern University. She recently choreographed a twenty minute modern piece, Beautiful Human, which was performed at the Eastern's senior dance concert, Still Standing. Liz has also performed in many of Eastern’s dance concerts, such as December Musings, Oh, the Places You Will Go, Meanwhile I Keep Dancing, Deep In December, Spirit Dancing, In You We Live and Move, Terrific Twenty, Winter Dance Conert and Spring Dance Concert. She has had her choreography showcased in five of Eastern University’s dance concerts; her pieces included A Part of My Soul, Unfaltering Drive!, Paresthesias, Beautiful Human and What Remains?. Liz had the opportunity to perform in pieces by Eastern University’s professors such as Stephen Welsh’s Under the Microscope in 2009 at the Community Education Center in Philadelphia, Dr. Karen Clemente’s Return Again in 2007 at Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance State Convention, and Saleana Pettaway’s Faint jazz dance at Eastern University’s dance concert Spirit Dancing. Liz has danced on the Redefined hip-hop dance team at Eastern, and has also attended the American College Dance Festival Association in 2009, 2010, and performed in 2011. Liz is a former company member and choreographer for the modern dance company MM2. Her piece for MM2, Post-Emergence, was performed at the 2010 Philadelphia Fringe Festival.
Liz graduated from Souderton Area High School in 2006, and has been studying dance for 18 years. She has studied ballet, jazz, modern and hip-hop. At a young age Liz, had the opportunity to take classes and perform in the Nutcracker with the Donetsk Ballet Company. She received her dance training at Green Street, and the Barn Studio of Dance, and has taken ballet and modern classes at Koresh in Philadelphia where she took class with Melissa Rector, and Steps in New York City where she took class with David Howard. Liz had many soloist roles throughout her training such as Sugar Plum fairy, Arabian, and Spanish in the Nutcracker, Gold fairy in Sleeping Beauty, and the Evil Queen in Snow White the Ballet. She was also featured in a pas de trios from Giselle, a modern piece entitled Finally Accepted, and a contemporary duet entitled Hallelujah. Liz has also worked at Branch Creek Community Church, where she designed and taught the dance program for the art's camp.

Cate Reynolds

Mary Watson-Founder-Ballroom Teacher
Mrs. Mary Watson, founder of the Barn Studio of Dance studied extensively at the Jack Stanley Studio and the New Dance Group, NYC. She skated professionally with the Skating Vanities staged by Gaye Foster of the Broadway Roxy Thearter, NYC and has toured the US and Canada. Mary was assistant choreographer with the Philadelphia Eagles' Eaglettes. She was also the Director of Dance at Chestnut Hill College where she taught for 10 years. She has enjoyed an association with various high schools in the area as choreographer and has directed the University of Pennsylvania's Quakerettes. Mary is a member of the Dance Masters of America and the Pennsylvania Association of Dance Teachers. Mary is now teaching ballroom classes at the Barn Studio of Dance.
